Conclusion Questions

1.What book did you decide to redesign the cover for? Why did you choose this book?

The book I decided to redesign is "It" by Stephen King. I chose this book because I love the "It" franchise. I watched both movies and I'm very interested in the storyline and the unique way Stephen King portrays the horror franchise.

2. What parts of the plot did you use as inspiration for your book cover design?

I used Georgie's disappearance as the inspiration for the front and back cover. I used the setting to make the viewer feel curious about who the boy is on the streets and his unsettling surroundings.

3. In as much detail as possible record the steps it took to create this project in photoshop. Use complete sentences. Try to recall as many of the different tools, processes and keyboard commands as possible.

I first began by choosing what book I should redesign. I decided I was going to choose "It" so I began by making an art board of how I wanted the book cover. I made sure to stay within the demands of the viewers. They wanted a new cover that catches the eye of a younger audience. I then moved on to my final cover. I added in different images and used multiple tools to help me finish the design. Once I was finished I embodied the cover onto a book. After that I saved it and added it to my wix.

4.What was the easiest and what was the most challenging part of creating your cover?

The easiest part of the project was the art board. This is because it was really easy coming up with ideas of how I wanted the cover to be. The difficult part was actually adding the art board into my final cover. I was having a hard time trying to get all my ideas into one spot. I was unsure of how I wanted the layout and design.

5. Based on the learning target, "Students will redesign a cover for a famous book that appeals to a modern literacy audience by developing, proposing and refining artistic ideas, plans, prototypes and production processes for media arts productions.  " what level of mastery does your project demonstrate (Exceeds, Meets, Needs Work, minimal understanding). Why do you think so? Make sure to provide specific evidence.

Based on my learning target I believe my level of mastery exceeded the standards because I not only met the requirements but went above and beyond. I added little details such as "#1 book of the year" to give it a more realistic feel to it.
